Overview of the School
The School of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries was started in the year 2013 with the aim of imparting higher education in Agricultural and Allied Sciences and producing dedicated and trained graduates. The school caters to a large number of students from almost every corner of the country and believes in providing holistic education in the field of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Our students and faculty are actively involved in Research. The school aims to create innovative thinkers and instil technical and managerial skills among graduate and postgraduate students to prepare them to pursue a rewarding career in the field of Agriculture and Allied Sciences. The School is proud to have the most learned people as their faculty members, who are recognized worldwide for their eminent teaching skills and outstanding research accomplishments. The School provides an atmosphere not only for healthy academic activities but also for all-round growth and development of student’s personality. The university has followed a system of education that provides a great deal of openness transparency, flexibility and possibilities for growth.
Some of the innovative programmes in the curriculum are Practical Crop Production (PCP), Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE), Forest work Experience (FOWE), Experiential Learning Programme (ELP).
The School has well equipped laboratories and a large Farm Area within the University Campus where students perform experiments and get practical knowledge. The School is Wi-Fi enabled with high speed Internet connectivity. The Alumni of the School are working in different sectors related to their disciplines.
Objective of the School
- To provide high-quality education in agricultural and allied sciences, equipping students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
- To promote the development of new technologies and practices that enhances productivity and environmental sustainability.
- To develop abilities to practice and propagate various farming systems, crop diversification and sustainable agriculture practices
- To impart training to develop abilities for transfer of technologies for the benefit of farming communities.

Warm welcome to the School of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Jigyasa University, Dehradun
The Science of Agriculture is a comprehensive science covering a wide range of fields, from basic to applied, with the aim of contributing to human survival and life, including the analysis of biological functions, the production of foods and foods that make effective use of those functions, the conservation of the natural environment and the maintenance of our living environment, including local communities. In other words, modern agriculture is not only an industry but also a practical study that supports our lives.
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the School of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Jigyasa University. The School is a doorway to educational, research and outreach programs in agriculture, forestry and fisheries sciences. We sincerely try to provide the best of theoretical and practical exposure to every student studying in the School of Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries so that they understand the role and appeal of agriculture& allied sciences, and grow into human resources with a broad perspective, professional insight and technique and a rich human nature that can support our future.
At our School, we provide our students with practical education that prepares them for careers in the growing job market. There is an increasing demand for graduates with degrees in agriculture and related fields and we are here to meet that demand. Our students also develop skills and gain experience in communication and leadership through both formal coursework and the many student clubs and organizations found on campus.
It is our sincere efforts that student not only becomes a good agri- professional but also a good human with strong values and ethics. This is ensured through frequent co-curricular and extra- curricular activities including sports and cultural activities. Our students have brought several accolades in various Inter-University events. Our strength lies in the achievements of our Alumni who are working in several multinational companies and also gaining higher education in several Government agriculture universities of India and abroad.
