Jigyasa University proudly takes the lead in establishing the Centre of Excellence for the Science of Happiness. This is the first Happiness Centre in the state of Uttarakhand established in collaboration with the Rekhi Foundation for Happiness. Dedicated to the advancement of Positive Psychology and Mental Health, the Centre focuses on enhancing overall well-being and promoting happiness as an integral part of personal and community life. In a significant step towards this vision, Jigyasa University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rekhi Foundation in December 2023 to collaborate on research, training, education, and the practice of well-being for all. The Centre is committed to launching innovative courses and fostering research in the Science of Happiness with the core mission to improve individual well-being, strengthen family and community bonds, address challenges related to stress and anxiety, and promote positive emotions that bring happiness.

Happiness is more than just a fleeting emotion—it is a vital component of success, satisfaction, and holistic development. In today’s fast-paced world, people often experience anxiety, stress, and tension due to various reasons. The Centre’s approach emphasizes understanding these issues and providing practical solutions that promote emotional resilience and long-term well-being. Currently, Happiness Centres and Laboratories operate in many prestigious institutions, including IIT Kharagpur, DTU Delhi, IGDTUW Delhi, Amity University Noida, NSUT Delhi, and IIM Lucknow. It is a matter of great pride that the vibrant campus of Jigyasa University is now among these premier institutions working towards enhancing the quality of life through the science of happiness.

The Centre is working to enhance the Happiness quotient among stakeholders and is also engaged in community outreach programs. Workshops, guest lectures and seminars have been organised on different themes related to the Science of Happiness in the Campus of Jigyasa University, which includes one-week virtual lecture series on Positive Psychology and Happiness, Happiness Week, Radiance-the Joy of Happiness, the Wall of Gratitude and many more. The Centre also offers various courses in the Science of Happiness and Well-being and looks forward to develop it as a centre of research in the domain of Positive Psychology and Happiness.
